When it comes to pardons, Trump hints he may just be getting started. Will he throw Dems a bone?

After driving liberals completely mad Thursday with the announcement that he will be offering a full pardon to conservative filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, is President Donald Trump on the verge of throwing Democrats a bone?

Trump said he is considering other acts of mercy, to include a big dog for Democrats in former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich.

Speaking in an informal gaggle with reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Houston, Texas, the president said he is considering pardoning or commuting the sentence of Martha Stewart and Blagojevich, Fox News reported.

Blagojevich, a contestant on Trump’s “Celebrity Apprentice” in 2010, is serving a 14 year sentence on corruption charges, which Trump called “really unfair.”

“He shouldn’t have been put in jail,” the president said.

“Plenty of other politicians could have said a lot worse,” he added, saying Blagojevich said something dumb, but that “lots of politicians” do.

As for Stewart, Trump said she “used to be one of my biggest fans.”

Trump was very complimentary of Stewart in a 2013 tweet: “I watched this AM re: & dating. She looks terrific, better than ever, any guy would be lucky to be with her.”

Stewart was convicted in 2004 of obstructing justice and lying to the government as part of an insider trading case in a case that was prosecuted by former FBI Director James Comey, according to Fox News.

The former governor’s wife, Patti Blagojevich, said in a statement that the president’s comments gave them “hope,” according to NBC News.

“[Trump has] given us something that has been hard to come by recently…hope,” she said. “From the beginning, we’ve eagerly awaited the day when Rod could come back home where he belongs, and we continue to pray our family will be made whole again soon.”
