‘Publix is dead to me’: Grocery chain pays ultimate price for caving to whims of Hogg’s teen ‘activists’

Supermarket chain Publix is finding out what happens to businesses that cave into the political whims of flaky teenagers like high school student David Hogg.

Last week, Hogg launched a boycott of Publix after learning that the grocery chain had donated to the campaign of Florida gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam, a Second Amendment advocate and NRA member.

In addition to calling for a boycott, Hogg and his unemployed high school pals decided to stage a “die-in” protest, which involved them playing dead by lying on the filthy, bacteria-riddled floors of a local Publix supermarket.

“Just go and lie down,” Hogg tweeted from his Twitter account, which showed a photo of him wearing a leftist vagina hat (he changed it after this article was published). “Feel free to die in with us at as many other Publix as possible.”

Many of Hogg’s leftist sheep friends complied, and gleefully lied on the grimy Publix floor, obstructing shoppers who just wanted to buy a quart of milk. It’s easy to protest something when all it requires you to do is literally take up space and do nothing. Hogg is an expert at that.

Amazingly, Publix responded by suspending its political contributions to Republican gubernatorial candidate Adam Putnam and issuing a groveling apology.

“We would never knowingly disappoint our customers or the communities we serve,’’ Publix rep Dwaine Stevens said in a statement. “As a result, we decided earlier this week to suspend corporate-funded political contributions as we reevaluate our giving processes.’’

In response to Publix’ craven capitulation to David Hogg, someone updated Publix’s Wikipedia page to read: “These pack of cowards caved to the Anti Constitutionalist David Hogglet. Shop elsewhere Patriots. Cowards caved to David Hogglet, the new Nazi youth leader.”

Wikipedia later deleted the edits.

Meanwhile, thousands of pro-Second Amendment Publix shoppers launched their own boycott, saying they will no longer shop at a supermarket chain that takes its marching orders from a 17-year-old kid with no job or life experience.

Former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino tweeted: “Find a new place to shop for a while other than Publix.”

Wes Watson responded, “Winn Dixie, here I come.”

BD Wallace tweeted: “Publix, you support Hogg, I buy my groceries elsewhere! Will never be back in your stores, ever!”

One man tweeted: “I missed the cowardice of Publix being pushed around by a fame whore. Wtf is wrong with these yellow-bellied companies?”
