U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley ended her speech with a powerful statement – using no words at all.
The ambassador condemned the terror group Hamas for the violence that erupted on the Gaza-Israel border this week during Tuesday’s Security Council meeting at the United Nations in New York.
But when she had finished, Palestinian Ambassador Riyad H. Mansour began his speech by condemning Israeli forces. Haley symbolically let him know what she thought of his narrative by getting up and leaving the meeting.

The new U.S. embassy in Israel opened in Jerusalem on Momday and was met with reports of rioting near the Gaza border as thousands of Palestinians converged on the border, many of them armed with explosives and rocks, to denounce the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city by the U.S.

As top U.S. officials including Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, attended the embassy’s opening ceremony and President Trump addressed those gathered in a video message, Israeli security forces and Palestinian protesters clashed in rioting that left dozens dead and several hundred more wounded.
Some nations at Tuesday’s Council meeting condemned Israel for using force against the Palestinians, while liberal media fueled the narrative that innocent and peaceful protesters were being attacked. The Palestinian ambassador blamed “Israel occupation forces” for the “massacre” at the border during the UN meeting.
Haley shut them down.
“No country in this chamber would act with more restraint than Israel has,” she said. “In fact, the record of several countries here today suggest that they would be less restrained.”
She blamed Hamas, the group that controls Gaza, for orchestrating the violence and argued that the U.S. Embassy move was not the reason as she called out the “double standard” at the U.N. which blames Israel for violence she said was stirred by Hamas and Iran.
.@nikkihaley: “Those who suggest that the Gaza violence has anything to do with the location of the American Embassy are sorely mistaken. Rather, the violence comes from those who reject the existence of the State of Israel in any location.” pic.twitter.com/hCJyCAzB8E

“Let’s remember that the Hamas terrorist organization has been inciting violence for years, long before the United States decided to move our embassy,” she said. “This is what is endangering the people of Gaza. Make no mistake, Hamas is pleased with the results from yesterday.”
“Moving our embassy to Jerusalem also reflects the reality that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel,” she said. “There is no plausible peace agreement under which Jerusalem would no longer remain the capital of Israel. Recognizing this reality makes peace more achievable, not less.”
