If any of his recent interviews didn’t convince you that the lawyer representing porn star Stormy Daniels isn’t ready for prime time, Michael Avenatti’s desperate play for attention at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner is sure to do the trick.
In what proved to be a creepy move, the attorney video-bombed White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and senior adviser Kellyanne Conway while they were being interviewed on camera by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins.
Avenatti took delight with his antics as he eased up behind an unknowing Conway, standing uncomfortably close to the presidential aide as she answered a question.
Sanders appeared to notice the attorneys’ publicity stunt, shooting him an awkward glance at one point before breaking out in laughter.
Avenatti’s client, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, received several invitations to attend Saturday’s dinner — which was little more than a vehicle used to launch an all out attack on President Trump, his family and administration — but the porn star opted not to go, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Sanders was a frequent target of vicious personal attacks from comedian Michelle Wolf, who headlined the dinner, and Conway didn’t escape unscathed either.

Much like Avenatti, Wolf seized on an opportunity to draw attention to herself, all the while justifying Trump’s decision to stay away from the event — after Saturday night’s vile performance, his entire administration should wisely shy away next year.
If the media wants to hold an anti-Trump circle jerk, let them do so exclusively.
And while the anti-Trump left couldn’t get enough of Avenatti’s antics, social media users who support the president called the stunt for what it was.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:

@MichaelAvenatti walks over to an interview, like a child trying to get seen last night.
The porn stars lawyer's actions show a lot to me.
Like 1. He is an attention getter
2. A joke of a man
3. Is a child and his actions at the #WHCD proves that, and shouldnt be taken serious
