“Good grief.” That’s how Fox News star Brit Hume reacted after former Obama-appointed Attorney General Eric Holder effusively praised MSNBC host Joy Reid’s faux apology over her homophobic slurs.
Hume tweeted: “First she blames hackers. When that collapses, she says she’s sorry but claims she thinks she didn’t wrote the stuff. Leave it to Holder to pile on the praise. Good grief.”
Hume was reacting to Holder’s gushing tweet, where he cooed: “Joy Ann Reid apology. Appropriate. Heartfelt. This unique and compelling voice for tolerance and equality should not be silenced. We learn – and change – from our mistakes. She has.”

Predictably, the response to Reid’s non-apology has been split along party lines. Many conservatives pointed out that had President Trump or any other conservative been found to have made such nasty homophobic comments, their careers and lives would immediately have been destroyed.
But Reid has the double-shield of being a black woman, so of course, liberals immediately accepted her disingenuous apology and rallied around her.
Here’s a brief analysis of Joy’s “apology,” which involved her claiming she “does not think” she wrote those posts, even though computer forensic experts concluded there’s no evidence to buttress her claims that her old website had been hacked.

Even Reid was forced to admit that her claims sounded like lies.
“I hired cybersecurity experts to see if somebody had manipulated my words, or my former blog,” Reid said. “And the reality is they have not been able to prove it. I genuinely do not believe I wrote those hateful things because they are completely alien to me.”
Fox News host Tucker Carlson summed up how millions of Americans felt about Reid’s “sorry-not-sorry” response. “You’d have to be a moron to believe it!” he said.

Many on social media agreed with Tucker’s assessment and blasted Eric Holder’s liberal hypocrisy.
One African-American woman tweeted: “Liberals will defend their own no matter if they expose themselves as hypocrites and liars. Yet condemn and refuse to forgive ANY conservative for past mistakes.”

Trump apologized for his language on the Access Hollywood tapes, yet to this day, liberals still hold him accountable. https://t.co/1DIK2b8cBW

Georgia Congressman Steven Smith quipped: “Eric Holder was the Joy Reid of law enforcement. Just a petty, vindictive jerk with no guiding principles.”

Another man wrote: “If you are actually going to tell the truth Holder, tell the whole truth: She denied, then she lied, and then she apologized. So, not really someone to emulate in my opinion. But you do you, Mr. Fast and Furious.”

Trial attorney Robert Barnes noted: “Holder has a unique knack for praising criminals. Probably helps that he was the first AG held in Contempt.”
