First lady Melania Trump proved to be more than a capable emissary in representing President Donald Trump at the funeral for former first lady Barbara Bush.
The services took place Saturday at the “magnificent” St. Martin’s Episcopal Church in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Trump gracefully fit right in, sitting alongside former presidents and first ladies Barack and Michelle Obama, and Bill and Hillary Clinton at the invitation only event.
Former President Obama can be seen in the photo below looking on as Mrs. Trump prepared to sit.
The Bush family has little regard for President Trump, who watched the services from his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
“It was my honor to travel to Houston to give my respects to Barbara Bush and the remarkable life she led as a mother, wife, and fearless First Lady,” Mrs. Trump said in a tweet. “My sincerest thoughts and prayers continue to be with George H.W., and the entire Bush family.”

The first lady was captured sharing a lighthearted moment with Obama in the video below — Michelle Obama appeared to be less than amused.
Trump brought two White House staff members who were close to the Bush family as her guests, according to The Hill.
“She knew they were very close to the Bush family and wanted them to be able to pay their respects,” spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said of former White House head maitre d’ George Hainey and current White House usher Buddy Carter.
The first lady’s Instagram account posted a photo of Mrs. Trump posing with members of law enforcement prior to boarding her return flight.
“Thank you to #Texas law enforcement for ensuring the safety of everyone today.” the caption read.
The photo prompted a response from actor James Woods, who was impressed by the image.
“You are a lady of such class. We are so lucky to have you,” he tweeted.

Barbara Bush received an honorable send off with police officers saluting as her body leaves St. Martin’s Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Trump also tweeted a portrait of Barbara Bush, along with the caption: “What a beautiful tribute to a wonderful woman who lived for God, family and country.”

The senior Bush, as he is known to do, wore socks emblazoned with images of books “to honor his wife of 73 years and her commitment to family literacy, for which she raised over $110 million over the course of over 30 years,” tweeted spokesman Jim McGrath.
