The scandal surrounding Fresno State professor Randa Jarrar grew even worse this week after video footage emerged of her criticizing the farmers who produce our food but praising the left-wing terrorists who hijacked planes in the 1960s and 1970s.
“[A] lot of the farmers now are Trump supporters and just f—ing stupid,” she says in one clip.
“I’m tired of being the bigger person. I’m tired of the left being f–king stupid and being like ‘we have to be gentle.’ No, don’t be f–king gentle,” she says in another clip.
“You look at resistance fighters in the 60s and 70s. They didn’t kill anyone, but they scared the s–t out of people. They would hijack a plane and be like, ‘We aren’t going to hurt anyone on this plane, but we are going to f–king hijack this plane.'”
The video also shows her mocking a group of people as they walk out of her lecture, telling them, “Your kids masturbate.”
What a classy, charming woman … (sarcasm alert)
Jarrar first piqued the public’s attention when, following the tragic death Tuesday of former first lady Barbara Bush, she took to Twitter to accuse the just-deceased icon of being an “amazing racist” and celebrate that “the witch is dead.”
As backlash quickly began brewing across the country, the self-avowed Muslim professor directed her critics on Twitter who wanted to reach her to Arizona State University’s suicide/crisis hotline.
The hotline experienced a massive spike in spam calls, making it inordinately difficult for those with real crisis/suicide issues to speak with someone and get help.
Now shes posting mental health hotlines and creating a massive potential calling issue for a service some may really need. This is horrible. @randajarrar needs help @Fresno_State she is now potentially hurting services students needs pic.twitter.com/7YzJNlf8A2

Many now argue that Jarrar should be terminated from Fresno State, though the reasons differ. Some claim her disgusting rhetoric extends beyond the protections afforded by the First Amendment, especially given her role as an educator at a publicly funded university. Others note that her phone number stunt put real lives at risk.
As of Saturday, Jarrar was reportedly on leave, though it remained unclear whether Fresno State president Joseph Castro intended to fully terminate her position.
“This was beyond free speech. This was disrespectful. A professor with tenure does not have blanket protection to say and do what they wish. We are all held accountable for our actions,” he reportedly said at a press conference Wednesday.
Some in the leftist media, including the “fake news“-prone paper known as the The New York Times, have since stuck up for Jarrar, with one columnist labeling the public’s desire for the Muslim professor to be fired as “threats to free speech on campus.”
The Times’ liberal readers seemed to agree:
Fresno State’s prof Randa Jarrar’s comments degrading Barbara Bush were obviously in very poor taste https://t.co/QyuY6s6yxy But if under the rubrics of academic freedom and free speech, right to offend is not permitted, then only the religiously polite are protected

She obviously spoke out of turn.
She obviously believed what she said.
She obviously does not deserve to be pressured into resigning.
The guy in the WH is overthrowing our Constitution, and that is much more serious.

Never mind that Jarrar’s antics caused a crisis/suicide line to crash, right? In fact, the Times’ column didn’t even include this fact. Yet the paper wonders why so many conservatives refer to it as “fake news.” Gee, what could the reason possibly be!?
