CNN’s Chris Cuomo compares ‘Morning Joe’ to ‘Hannity’: How is this different?

CNN’s “New Day” host Chris Cuomo took aim at MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Thursday and accused them of being  like Fox News host Sean Hannity.

“Full disclosure, ‘Morning Joe’ is opposite us for MSNBC in the morning,” Cuomo said. “How is this [Hannity] different than Morning Joe?”

“Remember in the days of the glow, when [Joe] and Mika spoke to Trump all the time, had him on, discussed what questions to talk about in the break. And they were the Trump whisperers,” he said.

Cuomo said he understands why Hannity’s style may irritate some people, but also thinks Joe Scarborough is a hypocrite who’s equally deserving of heavy media scrutiny.

“What Hannity is doing, I get why it bothers people. But ‘Morning Joe‘ was applauded for his relevancy. And look how they have Trump on. I don’t know,” he continued.

“I was watching the headlines closely, because I believed it worked against us here. Because we didn’t have that kind of access because we weren’t ‘mwah mwah mwah [kissing sound]’ with Donald Trump all the time.”

“Now it’s suiting them to do the opposite,” Cuomo concluded. “That hasn’t been called out either.”
