Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg revealed on Tuesday that the special counsel’s office has interviewed staff from the social media giant as part of the Russia investigation.

Appearing at a Senate hearing on Capitol Hill, Zuckerberg also said he believed that Facebook has been subpoenaed by special counsel Robert Mueller.

“I want to be careful here because…our work with the special counsel is confidential, and I want to make sure that in an open session I’m not revealing something that’s confidential,” he told Democratic Vermont Sen. Patrick Leahy.

Zuckerberg testified about his firm’s relationship with data harvesting firm Cambridge Analytica as well as Facebook’s publication of ads placed by a Russian troll farm.

CNN reported in September that Facebook provided the special counsel’s office with copies of Russia-linked ads in response to a search warrant. Mueller indicted 13 Russian nationals and three Russian companies on Feb. 16 that used social media platforms, including Facebook, to publish propaganda aimed at sowing discord during the 2016 presidential campaign.

Zuckerberg told Leahy that he has not been interviewed by Mueller’s team.
