Fox News host Laura Ingraham came back from her vacation ready for battle.
Ingraham’s announcement that she’d be taking a pre-planned hiatus from her show came in the wake of an organized boycott led by Parkland, Florida student and anti-gun activist David Hogg. Out of the gates, Ingraham addressed the attempt to silence her conservative voice and vowed to fight back.
Ingraham promised that in the coming weeks, she’d be relentless in her work to expose the “perpetrators” and “major players” of the anti-free speech movement along with their tactics.
“We will never relent. And we will never give in,” Ingraham declared.
But first the embattled show host, used a book from Dinesh D’Souza to explain how the once open-minded, so-called tolerant ways of the youth’s liberal left have all but vanished.
She said college campuses have turned from bastions that “championed free speech” to institutions that “stifle” it.
Ingraham laid out the left’s attempt to stifle growing conservatism that ignited under Reagan by indoctrinating college students and shutting down all views that opposed progressive orthodoxy at all costs.
Conservatives were “sued” and “maligned” by both students and professors, Ingraham noted.
“Generations later, the chilling effect on free speech and the workplace in the media, and in society at large is palpable,” she declared. “We all feel it. And the situation may be worsening.”
The Fox Host became the left’s collective target after David Hogg released his marching orders and with the help of the George Soros funded group, Media Matters, executed a devastating boycott of her show by targeting advertisers, many of which bailed.
Hogg quickly rose to stardom after the horrific massacre at Stoneman Douglas Highschool in February. He’s gone on profanity-laced rants against those who oppose his anti-gun views, accused Sen. Marco Rubio of having ‘blood on his hands’ and labeled 5 million law-abiding American citizens who belong to the NRA “murderers.”
When Ingraham made a quip about Hogg not getting accepted to college – a fact he shared on social media – the budding provocateur launched his boycott, blaming Ingraham for picking on an innocent “child.”
Ingraham then more directly addressed the elephant in the room, and said that in today’s world, even expressing mainstream ideas can get you fired.
“Or, yes, you can get boycotted,” she added.
“This is the intolerant left in action,” she continued. “Whether it’s striking voices from social media, or driving certain viewpoints on the airwaves. Beating people up, organizing boycotts, for perceived unforgivable offenses or preventing speakers from being heard on a college campus, it’s all coming from the same place.”
Ingraham warned that the movement to silence conservatism is gaining ground.
“And the goal posts by the way are forever moving,” she warned. “Every day more issues are taken off the table all together and may longer be debated at all.”
Ingraham addressed recent high-profile cases where conservatives have essentially silenced. Pro-Trump activists known as Diamond & Silk are taking their case against Facebook public after the social media giant squashed their once massive and growing audience. And, a conservative never-Trump columnist was fired from The Atlantic after a massive liberal movement was launched against the magazine for hiring the anti-abortion advocate.
“We indeed are reaching a crisis point. Where cultural walls have now being erected to conscript and steal free speech in America,” she continued.
“I’m going to be announcing my response to this dangerous epidemic and what this show will do in the coming weeks to expose the perpetrators, their tactics, their major players, and their funders.
“Their efforts are Stalinist, pure and simple. Their objective is a total transformation of American society, not through rational discourse and open debate, but through personal demonization and silencing. True liberals and conservatives should defend the free speech anywhere and everywhere because the everywhere because the tables can turn quickly. Today its conservatives being targeted.
“Tomorrow it could be left of center voices as well.
“What the speech czars don’t seem to appreciate is that there are as many if not more of us than there are of them. And we will never relent. And we will never give in. Never.”
Meanwhile, the liberal boycott continued as Ingraham spoke. Allstate insurance announced it was the next to cave to increasingly alarming movement to silence anyone who dares to disagree with the left:
BREAKING: @IngrahamAngle‘s return to Fox News tonight does not end her bad news: @Allstate has dropped her show, telling employees “Laura Ingraham’s comments about David Hogg were inconsistent with our values.” They are the 20th sponsor to stop their ads. https://t.co/LTTIF2oUSE
