This brave sixth grader recorded her teacher’s ugly rant about Trump and minorities and told her story

A Georgia middle school teacher’s rant about President Trump forced the school district to respond to an “extremely unfortunate” incident that was brought to light by a student.

The Henry County school district responded to an audio recording of sixth grade teacher Johnetta Benton which was captured by one of her students at Hampton Middle School.

Josie Orihuela began recording the audio once Benton began her lecture as she was introducing a video to celebrate Black History Month.

The teacher reportedly gave students a 15-minute monologue about how “America has never been great for minorities,” taking a jab at Trump’s campaign slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

“He must be talking about when it was great for Europeans. Because when it comes to minorities, America has never been great for minorities. And even now it makes me go, ‘hm,’ and I’m trying to figure out when it was great. And then now he’s trying to stop immigration,” she is heard saying in the audio.

“It kept getting worse and worse,” Orihuela told “Fox & Friends” host Abby Huntsman on Saturday.

The student added that, before she was recording, the teacher seemed to suggest “Make America Great Again” could be a precursor to “trying to bring back segregation.”

The teacher slammed Trump repeatedly and advised students to “look in the mirror” at their own ancestry, denouncing the “European” settlers to America and ranting about the “millions” who were killed – “babies included.”

Orihuela, who is no longer at Hampton Middle School, said her teacher made her feel “like I had done something wrong even though I knew that I didn’t.”

The incident was “addressed immediately,” according to J.D. Hardin, the communications coordinator for the Henry County schools in Georgia, though it was not clear what steps the district had taken.

“This unfortunate incident affords us the opportunity to remind our educators of the importance of keeping any potential political bias out of lessons for students of any age,” Hardin said in a statement to “Fox & Friends.”

Hampton Middle School had just recently come under fire as angry parents discovered another social studies teacher gave his students an assignment that involved writing to U.S. lawmakers about passing stricter gun restriction legislation.

Twitter users debated the usual points, with critics of President Trump defending the teacher naturally. But many were clear that personal political views and blatant indoctrination has no place in the classroom.
