‘Heard you were the devil incarnate, good to meet you’: Hot mic moment between Mattis & Bolton has libs freaking

A humorous moment as Defense Secretary James Mattis greeted incoming National Security Adviser John Bolton has sent liberals into a tailspin.

An off-microphone exchange captured the greeting on the steps of the Pentagon Thursday as the two men met for the first time.

“I heard you’re actually the devil incarnate and I wanted to meet you,” Mattis joked as the men walked up the steps and into the Pentagon building.

Bolton, the former ambassador to the United Nations, is replacing former National Security Advisor H.R. McMaster who was fired by President Trump.

And while there was some speculation that Mattis and Bolton would have some clashes over issues, the defense secretary told reporters Tuesday that he had no concerns over their working relationship.

“We’re going to sit down together (this week), and I look forward to working with him. No reservations. No concerns at all,” Mattis said.

And while many, including Bolton, saw the humor in Mattis’ remark Thursday, liberals were not laughing and some seemed genuinely alarmed.
