Democrats can’t seem to get Hillary Clinton to move on.
The Democratic Party may keep trying to move forward but the two-time presidential loser has continued her blame game tour, pointing a finger at everyone else but herself for her stinging defeat in 2016. And, just when DNC chairman Tom Perez scheduled a fundraiser in New York City, the former secretary of state planned a fundraiser of her own – for the exact same date.
According to Page Six:
Clinton will be in town on April 30 for her “Onward Together” organization, to support young political leaders.
With great fanfare, Clinton announced in an email to her 2016 supporters that she is launching the Onward Together Leadership Council and that they could become charter members — in return for coughing up at least $10,000.
“Charter members . . . are an esteemed network of supporters who pledge to contribute $10,000 and up. Members will receive updates, briefings and invitations ,” the email read.
Perez is scheduled at an event for the same date at the Manhattan law firm, Kramer Levin, where he will discuss the party’s midterm election strategy. The law firm does not allow fundraisers but there will likely be a request for donations after the event, according to Page Six.
The DNC is facing a $6 million debt and took out another $2 million loan recently just to keep things running, according to Townhall.
“It will be interesting to see who goes to Hillary and who goes to Tom,” a source told Page Six.
“The issue is the optics. What the hell is wrong with the Democrats that they can’t manage to schedule non-conflicting events?” another insider told the publication.
