A rapper upset over exorbitant taxes? Maybe you should try not voting Democrat.
On Thursday, rapper Cardi B posted an expletive-filled rant on Instagram in which she decried the government for taxing “40 percent” of her income without providing visible results, exclaiming “I want receipts!”
“So you know the government is taking 40 percent of my taxes and Uncle Sam,” began the artist, real name Belcalis Almanzar. ” I want to f***ing know what you’re doing with my f***ing tax money!”
Comparing tax-paying to charitable donations, Almanzar said she wants to see a list that specifically details how her tax dollars are spent.
“When you donate, like, to a kid from a foreign country, they give you updates of what they’re doing with your donation,” she continued. “I want updates on my tax money!”
The artist took particular issue with her hometown of New York.
“I’m from New York and the streets is always dirty, we was voted the dirtiest city in America,” she complained, claiming that “there’s still rats in the trains.”
She then cited the living conditions of inmates, saying “I know you’re not spending it in the damn prison.”
The “Bodak Yellow” performer became more emotional as she went on.
“What is you doing with my f***ing money? I want to know, I want receipts, I want everything … Uncle Sam I want to know what the f**k you’re doing with my f***ing money!”
Almanzar also criticized US tax rates in December, urging anyone who planned to send her a check to wait until 2018 because of the way the “mother f–king IRS” was “coming for me for tax season.”
Despite her preoccupation with high taxes, Almanzar appears to hold left-leaning political views and particularly dislikes President Trump.
