Joe Biden is really fixated on reliving his high school years.
The former Vice President took heat from left-leaning outlet Salon for his “macho” comment at the University of Miami on Tuesday about “beat[ing] the hell out of” President Trump–the second time he has affirmed a desire to assault the Republican.
Speaking about sexual assault to a group of University of Miami college Democrats, Biden referred to the Access Hollywood tape of President Trump making crude comments about women that was released a month before the 2016 presidential election:
“When a guy who ended up becoming our national leader said, ‘I can grab a woman anywhere and she likes it’ and then said, ‘I made a mistake.’
“They asked me would I like to debate this gentleman, and I said no. I said, ‘If we were in high school, I’d take him behind the gym and beat the hell out of him.'”
The remark brought applause from the audience. But Salon said the Vice President’s excoriation of the president “could use some work.”

“Let’s start with the low-hanging fruit, even for powerful allies. Can we declare a moratorium on glorifying violence, on celebrating the patriarchal ideal of man as enforcer and protector, and on equating (even in the inverse) athletic prowess with good character? Because these ingrained cultural habits have historically not been kind to women and girls.
“Taking someone behind the gym and beating the hell out of him is an ego-driven enterprise, a poor way of preventing future sexual assaults, and also — oh yeah! — an illegal criminal assault.”
President Trump responded to the comment on Twitter early Thursday, claiming Biden would go down “crying all the way” in a physical confrontation.

“Crazy Joe Biden is trying to act like a tough guy,” he wrote. “Actually, he is weak, both mentally and physically, and yet he threatens me, for the second time, with physical assault. He doesn’t know me, but he would go down fast and hard, crying all the way. Don’t threaten people Joe!”
Many of the president’s supporters rallied around his denunciation of the former vice president.
