Anthony Scaramucci may no longer work in the Trump administration, but that won’t stop him from fiercely defending the president’s family.
In a series of Thursday evening tweets, former White House communications director lashed out at Page Six reporter Emily Smith, who penned an article claiming Donald Trump, Jr. and his wife, Vanessa, were heading for divorce.
Scaramucci began by saying Smith likes “hurting people,” quoting the Page Six writer’s tweet gloating over the Trump, Jr. piece and another article that claimed Scaramucci was spotted having an “intimate conversation” with Fox News host Kimberly Guilfoyle.

The former communications director briefly pursued a romantic relationship with Guilfoyle last year while estranged from his wife.
Scaramucci continued his condemnation of Smith.

In one tweet, he called the Page Six reporter a “lowlife animal,” tagging both Smith and Francesca Bacardi, who wrote the article about him and Guilfoyle.

The billionaire financier went on to say Smith is the “ugliest person there is on the inside,” and a “person with no moral or journalistic standards.”

The tweeting gained the attention of Geraldo Rivera, who urged Scaramucci to “be cool.”
Be cool @Scaramucci Thick hide is the mark of a true tough guy

The Trump ally brushed off Rivera’s remark, saying “I’m not a tough guy,” Geraldo.

Rivera again chimed in, arguing Smith was “doing her job.”
Yikes bro she’s doing her job. She works for #PageSix not #Fortune

Scaramuci closed his rant by retweeting Chelsea Clinton, who called on the press to “respect the privacy of President Trump’s grandchildren.”
Please respect the privacy of President Trump’s grandchildren. They’re kids and deserve to not be your clickbait. Thank you.

After the Page Six report, Reuters reported that Vanessa Trump had filed for divorce.
“After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways,” she said. The couple has five children together.

Many Twitter users echoed Scaramucci’s criticism of the reporting.
Very disheartened to see many in media covering the Don Jr divorce news with glee, making jokes and memes about it. Divorce is sad and hard on kids, I speak from experience. Let’s have some sympathy and restraint.

Vanessa Trump and Don Jr. have five children. Leftists should think about the pain this divorce will cause them before gleefully tweeting about a family tragedy.

They’re always rooting for someone’s decline. How pathetic.

Children should remain off limits regardless of the parents political affiliation or behaviors.

It’s such a low class liberal thing to relish and make fun of someone’s divorce – the shame! pic.twitter.com/PhayOdoMLh

No matter what life the children have or who their parents are, divorcing parents is confusing, sad, scary for the kids. Very sad for all concerned in a divorce.
