Virginia woman claims her concealed carry permit — not her gun, just the permit — got her fired from city job

Anti-gun hysteria has allegedly reached overdrive in one Virginia town.

A woman claiming to be a former Family Services specialist for the city of Roanoke said she was fired from the social services department and escorted out of work by police officers after her superiors discovered she had a conceal carry permit.

“I was fired today,” wrote the user, who went by the Twitter handle @chelstorrm.

“From Roanoke City Social Services, serving as a damn good social worker. I was fired for having a concealed carry permit. Not the gun, the permit. I was escorted by 3 city police officers bc I am a ‘safety risk to the building.'”

The woman tweeted her message to numerous public persons, including Fox News’ Tucker Carlson and President Trump.

She wrote that her boss called her into the office two months ago over her gun ownership and conceal carry permit.

According to the woman, she never carried a firearm while working.

She described herself as having been raised in a home that taught gun safety and said she was worried about being without health insurance because she suffers from asthma.

The woman claimed “lawyers are involved.”

Other Twitter users voiced support for her plight.

The news came as lawmakers around the country debate gun control and gun rights following a mass shooting at a Parkland, Fla. high school last month.
