President Donald Trump knows a little something about show business and what he saw on Sunday at the 90th Academy Awards was pretty far from what most Americans call “a good show.”
The ratings were so terrible, in fact, that they may be the worst in modern television history, as they took a 17 percent plunge year-on-year.
Not shy about rubbing it in to his Hollywood detractors on the red carpet and at the awards presentation, the president took to Twitter to engage in a bit of schadenfreude.
Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY. Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore – except your President (just kidding, of course)!

“Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY. Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore – except your President (just kidding, of course)!” Trump trolled.
Of course, Hollywood liberals are a glutton for punishment, since they believe they are on the side of the angels, and all those who disagree are flyover rubes who are still stuck in the dark ages.
Whether it’s the Grammys, the Oscars, CNN, sports journalism, the NFL, and on and on, liberal entertainers are willing to take big hits to their bottom line in order to spread their message.
The problem for them is that conservative Americans have caught on to the schtick and are no longer captive audiences to their political views. We have Netflix, Amazon video, video games, our Kindles and heaven forbid, even our own families to spend time with, rather than hear liberal celebrities’ canned messages rammed down our throats.
Until they change their tune, Hollywood liberals can celebrate their ‘brave’ political views where they belong… in their self-created media bubble.
