White House on lockdown after man nearby shoots himself, Secret Service responds…

The White House was placed on lockdown after a man reportedly shot himself in the vicinity of the North Fence.

As the Secret Service clarified, there were no other reported injuries from the incident.

The Secret Service also said that medical personnel were responding to the male victim.

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump were in Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, but were expected to return to the White House on Saturday afternoon.

As ABC News reported:

Law enforcement sources told ABC News the man who apparently suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound did not breach the fence line. The unidentified man’s condition was not immediately known.

The Secret Service did not fire any shots, the sources said. A firearm was recovered at the scene.
