President Trump ignites the crowd at CPAC: If Democrats win “They will take away your 2nd Amendment”

President Donald Trump appeared at the Conservative Political Action Conference and delivered an impassioned speech in defense of American’ Second Amendment rights.

“By the way, for the Republicans in this room, of which I assume, is that 99%? Or 100%?” Trump said. “I would hope it is close. You know what? Hey, we probably have some Democrats that want to come over. We have a great governor from West Virginia that left the Democratic Party. Big Jim. He came over to the Republican Party.”

“So people are sitting there. And they are saying we just had that great big it — let’s not vote. Let’s go to a movie,” Trump continued. “The Republican Party, we are going to do great. And then they end up losing. So you have to keep up the enthusiasm.”

“You know it happens, by the way?” he said. “They lose, and then you have the presidential election coming up again. And you clobber them because everybody gets off their ass, and they work. And they work and work and work. And you end up winning the presidency again. And we should do that.”

“Hopefully, we are going to do that very easily. But never, never… we have to worry,” the president added. “Right now, you have to get up, you have to just gets that enthusiasm. Keep it going. See, the word really is complacent. People get complacent. It is a natural instinct. You just won, and now, you’re happy and complacent. Don’t be complacent. Okay, don’t be complacent.”

Then, the president made a threat about what the Democrats intend if they should be returned to majority power.

“If they get in, they will repeal your tax cuts,” he said. “They will put judges and that you wouldn’t believe. They will take away your Second Amendment, which we will never allow to happen. They will take away your Second Amendment.”

The crowd gave the president a raucous round of applause.
