Renowned actress Meryl Streep is annoyed because she’s being used to defend disgraced Hollywood-mogul Harvey Weinstein in a lawsuit, according to a report Wednesday.

Streep, 68, fires back after she was listed in a defense of Weinstein against the sexual-misconduct allegations (the producer’s attorney filed Tuesday), according to the Hollywood Reporter. The actress said Weinstein “had always been respectful to her in their working relationship,” in a quote from Oct. 9, 2017.

The quote is now being used in the case, in an attempt to defend the disgraced producer’s character in a file to dismiss the allegations, according to Buzzfeed.

“Harvey Weinstein’s attorneys’ use of my (true) statement — that he was not sexually transgressive or physically abusive in our business relationship — as evidence that he was not abusive with many OTHER women is pathetic and exploitive,” Streep said in a statement.

Streep previously called Weinstein “God” in her 2012 Golden Globes acceptance speech for her role as Margaret Thatcher in “The Iron Lady,” according to Newsweek.

At least 80 women have accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct.
