In a satisfying bit of irony, Russian trolls apparently thought of MSNBC anchor Joy-Ann Reid about as much as she thought of Russia.
Turns out, her incessant alarms over alleged Russian collusion and interference in the 2016 U.S. election caught the attention of the Russian trolls indicted by Robert Mueller last week.

While Reid has found endless occasions on her weekend MSNBC show to call out President Trump for allegedly colluding with Russians to win the election, it seems she herself is the favored pundit of the Russian troll brigade, according to a report by Law and Crime.
In fact, the liberal host earned almost half of the retweets received by Trump whose verified Twitter account was retweeted 578 times by the Olgino Trolls during the election campaign. In comparison, former Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders was retweeted 27 times.
According to Law and Crime:
According to an analysis of the raw data by Law&Crime, Joy-Ann Reid–recently and glowingly profiled as a heroine of the #Resistance by the New York Times–received some 267 total retweets by the private sector Russian troll brigade.
The next closest pundit favored by the Russian trolls was Sean Hannity–who received only a handful of their retweets during the 2016 election.
The host of “AM Joy” most likely caught the attention of the troll farm due to her unrelenting attacks on Trump, Russia-gate and other divisive issues in America. Reid has unleashed on Christians, bashed Trump supporters as “white men and white Americans without a college degree,” and accused the president of being “unabashedly, white nationalist in his sensibilities.”
Reid has used her on-air time and her Twitter account to fire her shots, as can be seen in a few of her tweets, including one during the campaign that earned her plenty of mockery for calling Russia a communist country.
That said, for most Americans it’s shocking to see an American presidential candidate openly touting authoritarian, communist Russia…

It’s all connected. Trump isn’t in this alone, and the conspiracy to install him in the White House involved more than Russia. https://t.co/2Nv1izy1fb

Donald Trump’s defense counsel, Rep. Jordan, is now publicizing the fact that a senior FBI counterintelligence agent was deeply concerned that Donald Trump, whose campaign was compromised by Russia, might become president.

As of today, Robert Mueller has done more to punish Russia for interfering in our election than Donald Trump (who Russians worked so hard to make president of the United States.)

She continued her Russia-focus over the weekend, as she declared the “Russian government is not our friend.”
Russia has played this game before — pretending to empathize with Black Americans’ plight as a way of playing them and stripping them of their rights. The Russian government is not our friend — NONE of us. https://t.co/80mQmg0Ulx

Perhaps not friends, but Russian trolls are certainly big fans of Joy-Ann Reid.
