Porn star Stormy Daniels says she’s free now to open up about alleged Trump affair

President Trump’s lawyer may have inadvertently shaken up a storm.

A representative of porn star Stormy Daniels told the Associated Press on Wednesday that the adult actress is now free to talk about her alleged 2006 sexual relationship with the president, citing recent remarks by Trump attorney Michael Cohen as a violation of a non-disclosure agreement.

On Tuesday, Cohen told the New York Times he paid Stormy Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, $130,000 out of his own pocket in 2016.

The lawyer reportedly did so out of pressure from the Federal Election Commission, which is investigating a group’s complaint that the payment to Clifford violated campaign finance law.

“Neither the Trump Organization nor the Trump campaign was a party to the transaction with Ms. Clifford, and neither reimbursed me for the payment, either directly or indirectly,” Cohen said to The Times.

Also on Tuesday, the Daily Beast reported that Cohen is speaking with various publishers to propose a book that would detail his relationship with the president, including his involvement in the alleged Stormy Daniels affair.

Gina Rodriguez, Clifford’s manager, claimed the comments freed her client from the non-disclosure agreement.

“Everything is off now, and Stormy is going to tell her story,” Rodriguez said.

In the last month of the 2016 presidential election, Clifford was reportedly in talks with several networks to speak about her experiences with then-candidate Trump.

According to a Wall Street Journal article published last month, Cohen kept the porn star from sharing her story by creating a Delaware-based limited liability company, through which he paid her the six-figure sum.

Since the Journal story’s publication, the magazine InTouch released a 2011 interview with Clifford in which she related her alleged sexual encounter with President Trump.

The interview contained a number of salacious details, including the claim that the New York billionaire asked Clifford to spank him with a rolled-up Forbes magazine that featured him and his children on the cover.

Up to the moment, Clifford has not affirmed the veracity of the affair allegations. Her manager said the porn star will soon reveal when and how she will tell her story.
