New York City mayor Bill de Blasio jokes about false tsunami warning — and it’s gone nuclear

New York City mayor Bill de Blasio may have wanted to inject a bit of levity into news reports of a false tsunami warning that was given on Tuesday a.m., but people were in no mood following a false nuclear missile alert in Hawaii that still has the nation shaken up.

A reporter asked de Blasio for his response to the false AccuWeather alert, sent out in coordination with the National Weather Service, that New York City residents received early a.m. regarding a potential tsunami.

“Better than a warning of a nuclear attack,” de Blasio joked to the press.

Needless to say, not everyone was amused.

When it comes to making clueless remarks, it appears that everyday is Ground Hog day for Mayor de Blasio.
