Airline in trouble for scantily-clad models’ sexy in-flight show, but not everyone complained

Talk about friendly skies.

The budget airline Vietjet was fined by Vietnam’s aviation authority last week after scantily-clad models put on a risque in-flight fashion show for the under-23 football team.

The football team was returning from a competition from China after losing to Uzbekistan in the Asian Cup and was treated to the celebratory lingerie show, according to Reuters.

The sexy display prompted plenty of outrage when the word got out — not that the team seemed to mind.

The team is very popular in Vietnam, receiving a hero’s welcome on their return:

Vietjet apologized for the stunt on Sunday, the Daily Mail reported, saying it was an “improvised move” and not a well-thought-out marketing strategy.

One of the models who participated in the fashion show told Reuters a Vietjet rep told her to “grab a photo with the players.”

The airline said “relevant staff” had been disciplined.

And while there was anger over the in-flight show, not all travelers responded with indignation.

“I finally found an airline I like,” tweeted one social media user.
