Joy Reid thinks the only viewers smart enough to know about MS-13 gang are Fox News watchers

MSNBC may consider its host Joy Reid a journalist and political analyst, but the network’s star seems to be living under a rock when it comes to major issues of the day.

The host of MSNBC’s “AM Joy” apparently thinks that the only people who are aware of the crime gang MS-13 are Fox News viewers, as she indicated in MSNBC’s coverage of President Trump’s State of the Union speech Tuesday.

Trump honored victims of the international crime gang during his address, speaking about the horrible death of two teenage girls at the hands of the El Salvador immigrants. The emotional families of the teens were present at the Capitol.

“Two precious girls were brutally murdered while walking together in their hometown,” Trump said. “Four men associated with MS-13 have been charged with the killings… I am calling on the Congress to finally close the deadly loopholes that have allowed MS-13, and other criminals, to break into our country.”

Speaking with “Hardball” host Chris Matthews, Reid proceeded to slam the president’s remarks, and declared that Trump only brought up the crime gang to please the “audience he wants applause from.”

Panicked FBI sent five officials to the White House to stop FISA memo, and look who they lobbied

“He gives a speech tonight, in which he makes it sound like the biggest issue in the United States, the biggest threat is MS-13, a gang nobody that doesn’t watch Fox News has ever heard of,” Reid said. “So he makes it sound like they’re the biggest threat.”

Naturally, Reid joined other liberal voices indignant that Trump would dare to mention the international criminal gang during the State of the Union speech, as if his denouncing violent gang members was an indictment of all immigrants.

Apparently, the MSNBC host “needs to consume more news,” according to Fox News, which detailed:

A search of “MS-13” on CNN’s website reveals dozens of articles that mention the gang. The gang has been mentioned in an assortment of New York Times headlines in recent memory, such as a June 2017 article titled, “39 members of MS-13 are arrested, authorities say,” and a July 2017 article headlined, “Trump will visit Long Island in the wake of MS-13 gang arrests.”

If the Times is too high-brow for the MSNBC star, USA Today has also covered the gang extensively. A video on the site from Nov. 2017 is headlined, MS-13 gang member arrested in Maryland murder.”

USA Today even covered the gang back in 2012 when the Obama-era feds decided to label MS-13 a criminal group.

Even Democrat Sen. Kamala Harris, no Trump fan and probably not considered much of a Fox News viewer, told Chris Matthews that “MS-13 is an example of some of the worst of criminal gang behavior.”

It seems hard to fathom that Reid would be unaware of the media coverage of the violent gang, including coverage from dozens of print news organizations – from The New York Daily News, the Washington Post, and HuffPost to The Hill and The New Yorker.

But Reid, like her many liberal colleagues, just seems bent on spinning the left’s narrative.

She took to Twitter to condemn the president’s remarks about the MS-13 gang, and was immediately shamed by other Twitter users.

Her remarks about MS-13 and Fox News viewers also caught plenty of heat on Twitter.

The White House has given a time when FISA memo will be released – Democrats are already scrambling
