Pelosi rejects Dreamer pathway to citizenship, calls Trump’s immigration plan ‘a campaign to make America white again’

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi denounced President Donald Trump’s just released immigration reform proposal that includes a pathway to citizenship for 1.8 million illegal immigrants known as DREAMers, as a “campaign to make America white again.”

Accustomed to playing the race card at the drop of a hat, the California Democrat apparently doesn’t see the irony in her claim.

Pelosi was responding to the White House proposal released Friday that offered a pathway to citizenship in exchange for funding of the much talked about border wall and other changes, to include restricting chain migration.

“Let me just say what I said last night: that plan is a campaign to make America white again,” Pelosi said.

She employed the racially charged rhetoric while speaking at the Unites States Conference of Mayors, saying Trump’s proposal will hurt minority groups and cut legal immigration by 50 percent.

Pelosi also characterized rejecting a pathway to citizenship as “protecting the DREAMers.”

The 77-year-old lawmaker claimed the refusal of sanctuary cities to assist the federal government in enforcing U.S. immigration laws actually “helps law enforcement.”

“It helps public safety,” Pelosi insisted.

Right, try telling that to the family of Kate Steinle, who was killed by an illegal immigrant who had been deported six times — in San Francisco.
