A heartbreaking farewell between a family and their father who was sent back to Mexico highlights decades of disastrous U.S. immigration policies.
Jorge Garcia,39, had been living in the U.S. for 30 years and was working as a landscaper when a judge ordered that that he be deported.
Wife of Detroit man deported to Mexico after 30 years in US speaks out: “He’s not a criminal. … His case needs to be looked at individually, because he deserves to be here in a country that he’s known, not Mexico” #CuomoPrimeTime https://t.co/WvRdFroMLz

Garcia was illegally brought to the U.S. by his parents when he was 10-years-old, CNN’s Chris Cuomo reported. Garcia’s wife Cindy and two children said a tearful goodbye at the Detroit Metro Airport on Monday.
Garcia had been given extensions under the Obama administration after facing an order of removal in 2009, CNN reported. He missed the age requirement by one year that may have temporarily protected him under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program. His family had pleaded with ICE to extend his time until a new DACA law could be enacted.
Democrats have shut down any attempt to negotiate a new law with Trump. But, Cuomo was quick to pin Garcia’s heart wrenching situation on President Trump’s “crackdown” on illegal immigration.
Cindy Garcia spoke to Cuomo after footage of her husband’s farewell went viral.
“Yes, he was brought here at 10 years old and yes, he entered the country illegally, but he has no criminal record and his case needs to be looked at individually because he deserves to be here in a country that he’s known — not Mexico,” she said.
Cindy told Cuomo that she wants better border security for the U.S, but claims her husband is a victim of a “broken” immigration system.
“It affects 11 million other people, but at least I can come forward and tell my story because I am an US citizen and I do not have to hide in any shadows,” she said.
While Garcia’s plight is extremely unsettling, there was plenty of reaction that echoed the sentiment, “enough is enough.”
The immigration system has been unfair… to U.S. citizens and to those who think they can come here illegally and suffer no consequences.
Cuomo’s segment drew plenty of anger, sympathy, and criticism.
THIS IS THE ONLY TIME THAT I WILL AGREE. HOW IN THE HELL HE STAY HERE FOR 38 YEARS AND NEVER APPLIED FOR CITIZENSHIP IS CRAZY

My dad is older than this guy and he applied for citizenship, took the test, and became a U.S citizen, no dream act bs. There are other means.

.@FoxNews Is it sad-yes. ?? has laws and THEY MUST BE FOLLOWED! Just because someone who commits any crime (but is found 30 years later) gives them a free pass??Doesn’t work that way. Why would ANY law breaker get preference over someone who does it the right way.

Every time this story comes across my feed again I re-rage. ICE needs to seriously have its wings clipped. https://t.co/SgVAKlObFr

While liberals love to blame Republicans for the nation’s immigration woes, Democrats have arguably been using illegal aliens as political pawns for decades.
As previously mentioned, Democrat lawmakers have stymied negotiations with President Trump over DACA — the Obama era policy many on the left claim could help people like Garcia.
