President Trump was evaluated by the White House physician and his exam was released to the press on Friday. The health examination comes after weeks of breathless media coverage, which has been reporting in hushed tones that he might be “mentally unfit.”
This would leave open the possibility of Vice President Mike Pence invoking the 25th amendment, thus setting up a Constitutional crisis that could land Trump out of the White House with sufficient Congressional approval.
Alas, it’s all for not. The president’s examination, conducted at Walter Reed medical center, shows that he is in “excellent” physical health.
“The president’s exam at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center went exceptionally well. The president is in excellent health and I look forward to briefing some of the details on Tuesday,” White House doctor Ronny Jackson said in a statement.
“I think it’s going to go very well,” the president earlier predicted. “I’ll be very surprised if it doesn’t.”
“It better go well, otherwise the stock market will not be happy,” Trump said facetiously.
This follows upon an earlier medical exam by Dr. Harold Bornstein conducted in 2015.
“If elected, Mr. Trump, I can state unequivocally, will be the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency,” Bornstein wrote.
Hardest hit? The U.S. press, which had fingers crossed that a physical exam could provide the pretext to throw Trump out of the Oval Office.
Better luck next time. The American people are sure the media can cook up another reason for the duly elected president to be forcibly removed from the White House.
