California Representative Adam Schiff, the man who’s seemingly seen a Russian behind every pillar of the Trump White House since day one, was at the brunt of some harsh criticism from a fellow member of the House Intelligence Committee, Rep. Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., on Sunday.
During a detailed conversation about the Russia investigation on “Sunday Morning Futures With Maria Bartiromo,” Gowdy explained how seeing merely what one wants to see can be quite the opposite of arriving at the truth of a matter, particularly when it comes to President Trump and Russia.

And Schiff, above anyone, has seen exactly what he wants to see from the beginning, evidence be damned. But could there be ulterior motives?
“Some of my Democratic colleagues, namely Adam Schiff, said he had evidence, more than circumstantial evidence of collusion, before the investigation even began,” Gowdy told Bartiromo. “So keep that in mind. The ranking Democrat on the House intel committee had evidence of collusion before we interviewed our first witness.”
Put it this way, when dozens of Democrats are already voting to impeach without a single shred of evidence, something other than a desire for truth is clearly at work.
“Almost 60 Democrats voted to move forward with impeachment. Already,” Gowdy said. “Before Bob Mueller’s released a single finding. Before the House Intelligence or Senate Intelligence Committees have released a single, solitary finding, almost 60 House Democrats think the president ought to be removed from office.”
Unlike many Trump supporters, Gowdy does have evidence that special prosecutor Bob Mueller will come to the right decision.
“I would tell your viewers wait till Bob Mueller’s investigation,” Gowdy said. “People in the House seem to have already made up their minds and they’re just going in search of evidence that validates what they already believe. We have several witnesses left to interview.”
“That is infuriating,” Bartiromo responded.
“Well, it’s only infuriating if you have high expectations,” replied the South Carolina congressman, who then implied what Schiff’s true motive might be – a possible Senate bid to replace California Senator Dianne Feinstein.
“[Congress] is not where serious investigations take place. It is where Senate campaigns in California take place, but it’s not where serious investigations take place,” said Gowdy. “I do have confidence in Bob Mueller to reach the right decision and interview the right people, and hopefully the American people can have confidence. But you can’t have confidence in an investigation where the ranking Democrat prejudges it before you’ve interviewed your very first witness.”
