Conservative CNN guest learns the one word that will make Don Lemon explode in fury

Throughout history, various cultures have documented ‘magic words’ that can perform powerful acts upon their incantation.

‘Abracadabra’ traces back to a mysterious 2nd century scribe known only as Serenus Sammonicus. ‘Open sesame’ comes from the Arabian Nights and is a derivation of Ali Baba’s magic word for opening a passage to a secret treasure trove; it may be from an old Hebrew word for “password” (pronounced “seezma”). ‘Hocus pocus’ is a 16th century English term for a magician or juggler, and likely stems back to a jab at transubstantiation from the Catholic mass, in Latin, Hoc est corpus meum, or “this is my body.”

In 21st century America, we have our own ‘magic words.’ Due to “political correctness,” numerous citizens can be thrown into an absolute rage, losing all control of their volition upon the mere mention of certain “triggering” words.

Take Don Lemon. A talk show host for semi-popular news network CNN, he is skilled at the propagation of political correctness. He accomplishes this through the delivering of certain outbursts of indignation, typically accompanied by moral grandstanding, scolding of the offenders in question, followed by castigation, and if necessary, banning from the social group.

On Thursday, we learned the “magic word” that can send a host of the liberal persuasion into a tailspin. Behold and be amazed:

When conservative commentator Ben Ferguson mentioned the word, “Benghazi,” in the heat of a debate about President Donald Trump’s recent interview with the New York Times, the CNN show spun out of control.

“For example, when you clearly have top-secret information on a laptop that you have on a server in the basement of your house,” Ferguson said. “And then you send those top-secret classified documents to people that aren’t even cleared to see them and then you forward them to your husband, who by the way is in jail by the name of Anthony Weiner.”

Lemon looked like he was about to spontaneously combust.

“Man, what does this have to do with what we’re talking about?” Lemon shouted. “The FBI has already investigated that! They’re been a million hearings on it. It’s water under the bridge!”

“No, it’s not!” Ferguson retorted. “It’s water under the bridge for you, Don! It’s water under the bridge for you! It’s not for the rest of the people in this country!”

The debate continued to percolate, as Lemon gave Ferguson the floor. This invariably led to talk of misdeeds and potential Russian collusion regarding a presidential candidate, just not the one that Lemon wanted to focus on.

“Listen, I don’t want to hear about Benghazi, I don’t want to hear about uranium,” Lemon told Ferguson. “It has been litigated a million times–”

“Of course, because it doesn’t fit the narrative!” Ferguson shot back.

“It’s irrelevant!” Lemon exclaimed.

The CNN host, frustrated at the rhetorical impasse, pre-emptively cut to break. It was yet another entry in the network’s long pedigree of eliding politically inconvenient news topics; while Lemon and the Democratic intelligentsia chalk “Benghazi” up to be a watchword, it is actually a mystifying example of elitist hubris and incompetence, leading to the deaths of four American servicemen.

On a side note, CNN recently devoted 23 mentions to an issue near and dear to its heart: The blockage of coverage showing the president golfing while on vacation:

In contrast, CNN devoted exactly zero times discussing the blockbuster Politico report suggesting the Obama administration obstructed investigation into the terror group Hezbollah in order to preserve the former president’s legacy Iranian nuclear deal.

Mayhaps “Benghazi” will someday cease being the ‘magic word’ that can get a conservative CNN guest silenced; one may have it on good assumption the next word that will cast a spell on Don Lemon will be “Hezbollah.”
