Donald and Melania Trump spent Christmas spreading good cheer.
President Trump’s first item on his busy schedule was conducting a video teleconference with the U.S. military. Trump called all branches of the military to thank them for their service and let them know they are not forgotten while they spend the holiday away from home.
Trump spoke to five deployed units from his “Winter White House” in Palm Beach, Florida on Christmas Eve.
“I just want to wish everybody a very, very merry Christmas, we say Merry Christmas, again, very, very proudly. Very very Merry Christmas,” Trump said.
“We’re going to have a great year, an incredible year. I’m thrilled to bring seasons greetings on behalf of the first lady and our entire family and most importantly, on behalf of the American people. Today and every day we’re incredibly thankful for you and for your families. Your families have been tremendous. Always under-appreciated, military families, the greatest people on earth.
“As we celebrate this most precious holiday, we’re grateful for each of you who spend this Christmas away from our families and defend all of our families, our freedom and our flag. Every American heart is thankful and we’re asking God to watch over you and to watch over your families.”
Melania Trump looked beautiful in festive red as she joined the President later on Christmas Eve to answer calls from children as they tracked Santa using NORAD’s Santa Track Program.
The President looked like he was having a great time as he and Melania answered a total of nine calls from randomly selected children across the country.
Melania was dressed to the nines down to the floral print shoes, and also appeared to enjoy her time chatting with the kids. She and Donald assured them that Santa was on his way and asked if the children had made their lists as they wished them and their families a Merry Christmas.
Melania changed into an elegant black dress to attend Midnight Mass at Church of Bethesda-by-the Sea in Palm Beach, Fla.
In the early hours of Christmas morning while most were still sleeping, President Trump sent the American people a special Christmas message via Twitter.
“We renew to the bonds of love and goodwill between our citizens. And most importantly we celebrate the miracle of Christmas,” President Trump said.
Trump spoke of the birth of Jesus and called Him the true source of joy and hope.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace,” Trump said.
