In the aftermath of a “scheduling error” that prevented FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe from testifying before Congress last week, U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan said senior FBI officials will be subpoenaed, if necessary.
Appearing on Fox News’ “Justice with Jeanine Pirro,” the Ohio Republican said he was assured by House Judiciary Committee chairman Rep. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., that subpoenas will be issued amid growing concerns about anti-Trump bias among senior FBI and Justice Department officials.
Bias that host Jeanine Pirro characterized as a potential “criminal conspiracy or cabal.”
At the forefront of these concerns are McCabe, counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok, attorney Lisa Page, and former associate deputy attorney general Bruce Ohr, who met with Fusion GPS, the firm behind the fake Russian dossier. Ohr’s wife was reportedly employed by Fusion GPS.
“We are going to subpoena Andrew McCabe, subpoena Peter Strzok,” Jordan declared. “Your opening was perfect, that lays out the entire story. Bruce Ohr. His wife and Lisa Page. And I think the chief of staff of the FBI needs to be brought in.”
“We need to depose them and subpoena all those individuals,” he added.
When asked how long that will take, Rep. Ron DeSantis, R-Fl., said it could happen quickly.
“We are ready right now,” he said. “We want to get it done quickly.”
“All those guys need to be held accountable for what they did,” DeSantis added. “But it needs to be exposed because it goes to the heart of whether this whole investigation was legitimate from the start.”
“We still don’t know,” he continued, “the government won’t admit whether they paid [former British MI6 intelligence officer] Christopher Steele for the dossier.”
