Joe Scarborough has found a new shtick: a strange fixation with dementia.
On Thursday, the panel on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe”suggested President Trump’s brief slurred words during his Wednesday speech on recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital are indicative of dementia.
Steve Schmidt, a political strategist who makes regular appearances on the show, said the President may suffer from an “impairment.”
“We don’t have updates on his health,” Schmidt said of President Trump. “We don’t know what’s going on. But this is a legitimate issue worthy of consideration. This is the man who commands America’s nuclear arsenal. And that video, that speech, that impairment, is chilling.”
The “Morning Host” crew contrasted the President’s current speech pattern to that of previous years, claiming there has been a significant change.
“This is not the person that we knew even three years ago. … There’s a remarkable change,” Scarborough said.
“Morning Joe” co-host and Scarborough fiance Mika Brzezinski alleged the President showed difficulty maintaining his posture.

“He seemed like he was almost hanging on to the prompter and hanging on to the words,” she said. “Something, I don’t know. … There was a struggle happening.”
Daily Beast columnist Mike Barnicle said the weight of the office may be affecting the President’s health.
“When you consider his age, his physical condition, he does not look in great physical shape and hasn’t for some time,” Barnicle speculated. “The anxiety, the worry, the burden of knowing that Bob Mueller and the special prosecutor is out there investigating nearly every aspect of his life and his family’s financial life and the fact that you know, he doesn’t really know the mechanics, the nuts and bolts of what he’s talking about a lot of times.”
Scarborough said his own mother has dementia, and suggested President Trump shows signs of the same condition.
The “Morning” Joe host has accused President Trump of suffering from a dementia.
Last Thursday, Scarborough made similar claims when he called on the President’s cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove him from office.

“You serve America and you know it,” Scarborough said. “You know you don’t serve Donald J. Trump, scam developer, scam you know Trump University proprietor. Reality TV show host, you don’t represent him. You represent 320 million people whose lives are literally in your hands and we are facing a showdown with a nuclear power and you have you somebody inside the White House that the New York Daily News says is mentally unfit, that people close to him say is mentally unfit, that people close to him during the campaign told me had early stages of dementia.”
The TV host has not revealed what sources have told him about President Trump’s mental state.
Is it simply a case of “Morning Joe” hoping repeating something often enough will make it true?
