The president of the FBI Agents Association fired back at President Donald Trump’s criticism of the FBI Sunday on Twitter, calling Trump’s comments “simply false.”

Thomas O’Connor used the organization’s Twitter feed to issue a response to Trump’s tweet that said the bureau’s reputation was shattered for the way they handled former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s email investigation.

“Every day, FBI Special Agents put their lives on the line to protect the American public from national security and criminal threats,” O’Connor tweeted. “Agents perform these duties with unwavering integrity and professionalism and a focus on complying with the law and the Constitution.”

“This is why the FBI continues to be the premier law enforcement agency in the world,” he continued. “FBI Agents are dedicated to their mission; suggesting otherwise is simply false.”

Former FBI Director James Comey and former Attorney General Eric Holder also criticized Trump Sunday on Twitter.
