Protesters hammer President Trump’s motorcade with chants of ‘lock him up’ as he arrives in New York City

President Donald Trump was greeted by throngs of protesters as he returned home to New York City on Saturday touting the Senate’s passage of a historic tax package.

Video showed the protesters as the president’s motorcade passed by chanting “lock him up,” “shame on you,” “racist” and “traitor.”

The protesters also used a chant Democrats have been using for decades in which they only change the name of person they chant against, “hey hey, ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go.”

The president is in town to attend a series of fundraisers and is being accompanied by White House counselor Kellyanne Conway and Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, The Hill reported.

The protesters confronted the president one day after his former National Security Adviser, Gen, Michael Flynn, pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in a deal with special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating alleged ties between the president’s campaign and Russia.

It also came the same day that the president scored a major legislative victory when Senate Republicans passed a tax bill after midnight.
