Former FBI Director James Comey waxed sanctimonious after reports hit the airwaves that Michael Flynn was pleading guilty to making a false statement to the FBI.

The former FBI chief posted a Bible verse that #ResistanceTwitter thought was pure fire:

CNN was absolutely giddy Comey would drop the biblical hot take, despite the appearances of partisan impropriety:

Now, after a new report that just came out, Comey might want to read other passages in the Bible, particularly, those on deception; namely, Leviticus, Exodus, and my personal favorite, 1 Peter 2:1: “Therefore, putting aside all malice and all deceit and hypocrisy and envy and all slander.”

Although the FBI claimed it had no files on the infamous meeting between former Attorney General Loretta Lynch and ex-president Bill Clinton, whose wife Hillary Clinton was running for president at the time, it turns out that this is far from the case. Judicial Watch recently uncovered the documents and made them public.

Judicial Watch’s president Tom Fitton summarized the documents’ importance.

“These new FBI documents show the FBI was more concerned about a whistleblower who told the truth about the infamous Clinton-Lynch tarmac meeting than the scandalous meeting itself,” Fitton said in a statement.

As Jordan Sekulow recapped on Fox News:

Now the documents have come in and what have we learned? The F.B.I. was mainly focused, when they knew about this tarmac meeting, on keeping it quiet. They did not want people to know about the meeting and they were trying to shut down an informant, someone who was talking to the press who was part of a security detail company. And they wanted to get to that individual, get them to sign a non-disclosure agreement.

You know what’s interesting here, Bill? They didn’t actually care or show any concern about the actual meeting itself. So when Jim Comey said, ‘Oh, that was what really drove me to take the action I did to not only announce what the F.B.I.’s findings were but also say no prosecution, because of that meeting I had to take Loretta Lynch out of it,’ no F.B.I. officials, Bill, had any concern about the meeting. They just didn’t want people to know about it.”

Fox News host Laura Ingraham broke down the new documents’ implications, which provide a “smoking gun” that Hillary Clinton got special treatment from James Comey’s FBI:

Those in glass houses, shouldn’t throw stones, Mr. Comey. It turns out that Michael Flynn is far from the only high-ranking government official in recent memory to be spreading his fair share of lies.
