The investigation into Michael Flynn might have taken a turn, but the jury’s still out on which way the wind has shifted.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team abruptly postponed grand jury testimony linked to Trump’s former national security advisor. Several witnesses, including a public relations consultant hired by Flynn’s lobbying firm were supposed to appear before a grand jury by early December, CNN reported.
The anticipated testimony had appeared to be on the fast track according to a source who works at the PR firm where the consultant worked.
“Time is of the essence,” the source at Sphere Consulting told CNN.
There was no reason given for postponing the testimony, but as CNN reported, it could be as innocuous as scheduling conflicts. But, the fact that it was announced after the investigation took a serious twist has Trump detractors giddy.
Flynn’s attorneys cut off information sharing with Trump’s legal team last week, signaling to some that Flynn might “flip” and cooperate with the government by making a plea deal.
But it doesn’t end there.
BREAKING: White House senior adviser KUSHNER met this month with the MUELLER team, and they asked about FLYNN. Spoke for about 90 minutes. https://t.co/IyXBGb5b4L

President Trump’s son-in-law and advisor Jared Kushner met with Mueller’s team earlier this month to answer questions about a meeting he had with a Russian ambassador and Michael Flynn in December 2016 as the presidential team was transitioning, the New York Times reported.
“Mr. Kushner has voluntarily cooperated with all relevant inquiries and will continue to do so.” Kushner’s lawyer told The Times Wednesday night.
Kushner does not appear to be a target of the investigation, but Mueller’s team likely met with him to try to build a case against Flynn.
Despite the president’s repeated denial of any wrongdoing, liberals and conservative “Never-Trumpers” like Bill Kristol are giddy with anticipation that all this means Mueller finally has dirt on Trump.
Re Flynn and Mueller: The interesting thing isn’t so much that Flynn wants a deal. It’s that Mueller seems interested in a deal. From Mueller’s point of view, I think there’s really only one reason to give a deal to Flynn: if he has serious info on Trump.

It might not be Trump himself, but he could be able to implicate people closer to Trump than Flynn: e.g., Conway, Bannon, Kushner, Sessions, Trump, Jr.

But not so fast.
Constitutional law attorney Alan Dershowitz angered liberals earlier in the week by saying he didn’t think “we’re close” to getting deal between Flynn and Mueller.
