FBI says one Black Friday item broke all time record slapping liberals with embarrassing reality check

A new single day record was set on Black Friday when more than 200,000 requests for background checks for gun purchases.

The FBI said it received 203,086 requests on Friday, destroying the previous record of 185,713 in 2016 and 185,345, both on Black Fridays, USA Today reported.

The number of guns purchased is probably more than the number of background checks as many purchasers procure more than one firearm.

The increase may be due, in part, to Attorney General Jeff Sessions ordering a review of the system after an Air Force veteran massacred 25 churchgoers in Sutherland Springs, Texas with a rifle he should not have been permitted to purchase if the Air Force reported his criminal convictions.

Devin Kelley, the shooter, had a 2012 conviction for domestic abuse of his then wife and stepson that was not reported to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System which would have prevented the purchase.

Sessions said in a statement that he was ordering the FBI and ATF “to do a comprehensive review of the NICS and report back to me the steps we can take to ensure that those who are prohibited from purchasing firearms are prevented from doing so.”

“The National Instant Criminal Background Check System is critical for us to be able to keep guns out of the hands of those that are prohibited from owning them,” he said. “The recent shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas revealed that relevant information may not be getting reported to the NICS – this is alarming and it is unacceptable. Therefore, I am directing the FBI and ATF to do a comprehensive review of the NICS and report back to me the steps we can take to ensure that those who are prohibited from purchasing firearms are prevented from doing so.”

Kelley purchased forearms in Texas in 2016 and 2017 but it is not known if any of those guns were used in the Nov. 5 murders.
