The First family is ringing in the Christmas season with some serious flare.
First lady Melania Trump and her son Barron were at the White House Monday to greet the magnificent tree that will soon be adorned with ornaments and lights for the upcoming holiday.
Melania, dressed in festive red with a plaid coat casually draped over her shoulders, welcomed Wisconsin tree farm growers Jim and Diane Chapman who presented the tree to the Trumps.
“This is a beautiful tree. Thank you so much. We will decorate it very nicely,” the first lady told the Chapmans and family members, SFGate reported. “I hope you can come and visit with us.”
Melania beamed at Barron as the festivities got underway.
The 19 ½-foot Balsam fir arrived on horse and carriage as Christmas music was played by a military quartet.
Melania and Barron literally circled the wagon, as they took in the size and scope of the beautiful Balsam fir.
Melania appeared pleased and impressed by the magnificent tree that was scouted out by the White House groundskeeper before its arrival.
Christmas is sure to be a particularly big celebration this year considering President Trump’s adamant defense of the Christian holiday. The president has regularly blasted those who water down the holiday and tradition with politically correct terms.
The tree was eventually taken to the Blue Room where it awaits a team of decorators and florists who will ascend upon the White House to transform it into a Christmas wonderland while the Trumps spend Thanksgiving at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.
Trump supporters and Christmas loving patriots will not doubt, wait with bated breath to see what will surely be a show-stopping festive transformation at the White House.
