Let them eat cake!
A souvenir slice of wedding cake from President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump’s 2005 nuptials was auctioned off for $2,240.
An anonymous bidder bought the chocolate truffle cake at auction through Los Angeles-based Julien’s Auctions, Fox News reported (see video).
Amazingly, the auction house had started the bidding at just $250.
The anonymous seller produced a Trump wedding invitation to prove the cake was authentic. The slice sold was a gold-and-white sponge cake topped with a buttercream rose.
The actual Trump wedding cake, which cost $50,000, was a towering seven-tier dessert that couldn’t actually be eaten because it contained too much wiring.
This isn’t the first time that a Trump memorabilia item has fetched high prices.
In October 2017, a sketch President Trump recently drew of the Empire State Building was sold at auction for $16,000.

While President Trump’s approval ratings have dipped during his first year in office, First Lady Melania Trump’s popularity has soared.
A recent CNN/ORC poll showed that 52% of Americans had a positive view of Mrs. Trump, compared to 36% in January.
Melania’s quiet grace and elegant style have no doubt won her many admirers, even among Trump haters.
Here are some highlights of Melania’s stunning fashion statements during her first year as First Lady.
