“Morning Joe” co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski held an intimate party to celebrate their engagement and true to form, couldn’t pull off the event without an effort to include President Donald Trump.
Scarborough popped the question to Brzezinski earlier this year while celebrating her 50th birthday in the French Riviera. The MSNBC coworkers haven’t announced a date for the wedding, but are expected to marry sometime next year.
Keeping with the incestuous feel, the engagement party was hosted by “Morning Joe” contributor Steve Rattner at his Fifth Avenue apartment and the little soiree featured a Trump impersonator, Page Six reported.
Rattner was in mid-toast when the imitation Trump made his appearance.
“I need to correct you. The fake news is at it again. They love to lie,” the fake Trump said. “The show is awful and unwatchable. People are saying it was canceled weeks ago.”
And what respectable liberal gathering — the guest list included John Kerry, Chuck Schumer, Al Sharpton and Mayor Bill de Blasio — would be complete without a joke about Russian collusion.
“I never colluded with Russia, and I never gave intelligence to Russians because I never had intelligence and I never will,” the impersonator reportedly joked.
Trump’s name also came up when the engagement was announced, with Scarborough claiming the president offered to marry them — back when they still got along.
The happy couple were married to other people when “Morning Joe” first debuted in 2007 — Scarborough divorced his wife in 2013 and Brzezinski split with her husband in December of 2015.
