Ivanka Trump has notably taken an issue in women’s causes since her father took over as president. But at an event in Maine with Senator Susan Collins, she was instead championing the cause of taxpayers.
The First Daughter and White House adviser took to the stage to tout the tax reform bill, which has been unfairly and inaccurately maligned in the press.

“As part of tax reform I am incredibly excited to see a materialization of some long-stated goals around expanding the child tax credit,” she said. “To put more money in the pockets of hard-working Americans at a time when they need it the most – then they’re raising their families.”
“So, currently, under both the House and the Senate bill, it’s dramatically expanded, north of today’s $1,000 per child,” she continued. “The refundability under the Senate plan, which I am very happy to see, has been increased over the current level of $1,000.”
Far from 50 million Americans “paying more” under the reform bill, an estimated 133 million households would see a tax reduction of an average of $1,890. The Republicans thus want to help taxpayers get the big black boot of government off their throats.
As an entrepreneur, Ivanka Trump knows the value of lowering taxes and cutting red tape. This doesn’t just benefit her family, but all American taxpayers who value hard work, productivity, and enterprise.
The First Daughter is thus representing the working class of people who only feel entitled to opportunity, as opposed to government bureaucrats, politicians and their clientele, who feel entitled to the fruit of other people’s labor.
The real laffer are progressives who view every gain for independent Americans to be a net loss for them and the government they worship. Not only do tax cuts help working Americans support themselves better, they can lead to increased tax coffers up to a point.
Speaking of boots, Ivanka Trump rocked some knee-highs to the event, joining the First Lady this week by shedding their trademark heels.
The boots were pearl-encrusted $189 knee-high boots from her own fashion line.
It’s time to step on the left’s argument that more taxes are always better. Like Ivanka Trump, you can wear big black boots and look good doing it.
