Savvy father, daughter duo thwart disaster, would-be kidnappers meet justice after dad gets his gun

A thwarted kidnapping attempt in Florida is reminding Americans why we have the Second Amendment.

Four young men allegedly tried to kidnap a 17-year old girl and then rob her family’s home, but the would-be assailants wouldn’t get far when her gun-wielding father caught sight of them.

Amber Brackney of Crestview, Florida was heading out of her driveway when she noticed several barrels blocking her exit, Daily Mail reported. Smartly, Brackney suspected something was wrong and refrained from getting out of the vehicle, and instead managed to drive around the barrels.

When her father, Terry Brackney heard the noise in his yard, he went outside to investigate and allegedly found four teenagers trying to break-in. Keilon Johnson, 19, Austin French, 17, Tyree Johnson, 16, and Kamauri Horn, 15, were attempting to get into the garage, when gun-weilding Mr. Brackney confronted them and fired shots. After the four young thugs took off into nearby woods, Mr. Brackney discovered the boys had been trying to dismantle the home’s security lights.

A neighbor called the police when he saw a “suspicious car” leave the scene. Cops detained the 2016 White Jeep Liberty on Highway 4. Inside, they found the perpetrators, along with a knife, guns, and a roll of tape.

Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office released a statement assessing the intruders’ likely intent:

“The goal was to first force her out of her car by blocking the road with barrels and garbage cans. (However their intended victim drove around the barrels and kept going.) They then planned to head to her house, confront and subdue her father – who they believed to be wealthy – and rob the home.”

Johnson, French, Johnson, and Horn have all been charged with attempted kidnapping and attempted home invasion robbery. Keilon Johnson is being held at Okaloosa County Jail. The other three young men are the Department of Juvenile Justice facility.

If Abmber Brackney hadn’t stayed in her car and her dad hadn’t grabbed his gun, we might be reading about a tragic murder-kidnapping-sexual assault case instead of a successful home defense story.

Stories like these show liberals why conservatives fight so hard to protect our Second Amendment rights.
