Senator Rand Paul was at his Kentucky home in Bowling Green mowing the lawn when suddenly he was attacked out of the blue, reportedly by a neighbor who is now in police custody.

The Republican senator was allegedly attacked by Renee Boucher, a neighbor who has subsequently been charged with 4th degree assault – minor injury, as reported by Fox News.
“Senator Paul was blindsided and the victim of an assault,” said Kelsey Cooper, a spokeswoman for Paul, in a statement to The Hill. “The assailant was arrested and it is now a matter for the police. Senator Paul is fine.”
A witness who is one of Paul’s neighbors says that Boucher and the senator have been immersed in an ongoing feud. The Daily Caller reports that Boucher appears to be a registered Democrat.

Boucher is being held at the Warren County Detention Center on $5,000 bond. He could face up to a year in jail for committing a class A misdemeanor.
Republican Senator Rand Paul was also at the scene of the Congressional baseball shooting in June, when Bernie Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson opened fire, critically injuring Rep. Steve Scalise.
“Had the [Capitol police] not been there, it would have been a massacre,” Rand Paul said of the Congressional baseball shooting.
“If he’s got several hundred bullets and we had no weapons and no place to hide. So if he would have advanced on the rest of us, there would have been no chance,” Paul added.
It could have been much worse. That definitely could have been the case with Rand Paul again this time.
