Sayfullo Saipov, the Islamist terrorist who attacked New York on Halloween Day 2017, entered the U.S. through a “diversity visa program” championed by Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer and ex-president Barack Obama.
“Authorities say he came to the United States seven years ago from Uzbekistan under what is called the Diversity Visa Program, which offers a lottery for people from countries with few immigrants in America,” WABC reported.
So we embraced a terrorist with open arms for the sake of forced diversity in an already diverse nation.
The diversity visa lottery program was enacted in 1995 under former president Bill Clinton. New York Democrat Chuck Schumer helped develop the program.
Basically, leftists rolled out the red carpet for terrorist Sayfullo Saipov because they wanted to “diversify the immigrant population in the United States.” Um, which country is more diverse than the United States?
Trump’s immigration policy seeks to end the diversity visa lottery program. As a reward for trying to protect the nation against terrorism, Trump gets defamed around the clock as a racist and an Islamophobe.
President Trump slammed Senator Chuck Schumer and the “diversity visa lottery program” on Twitter, saying he wants a merit-based immigration system. Why? Because immigration to the United States is a privilege — not a right.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for Sayfullo Saipov’s attack, and authorities say he left a note in his truck claiming he had committed the attack for ISIS. Saipov’s first name in Arabic translates to “Sword of Allah.”
President Trump responded by renewing his calls to crush ISIS and to curb the influx of immigrants pouring into the United States from known hotbeds of Islamist terrorism.
He also announced he will end the Diversity Visa Lottery program, which has admitted 50,000 immigrants per year since 1995. That’s on top of the countless other immigrants (both legal and illegal) the U.S. takes in every year, in addition to refugees and international students.

Shockingly, 1.83 million green cards were issued to nationals of Muslim-majority countries between 2001 and 2015, Conservative Review reported. This makes immigration from the Middle East the fastest-growing segment in the country. Since the 9/11 attacks in 2001, immigration from the Mideast has skyrocketed.
While liberals cry “Islamophobia!” the minute anyone suggests stemming immigration from known hotbeds of terrorism, it is a fact that the larger the Muslim population in a region, the higher the number of terrorist attacks. Just look at Europe.
Germany, France and Sweden — which have huge Muslim populations — suffer Islamist terrorist attacks on a weekly basis these days. In contrast, Poland (which has hardly any Muslims) has experienced zero terrorist attacks. Same with Japan and China.
Islamist terrorist attacks have become the “new normal” across Western Europe, but they don’t have to be in the United States. It is time for Americans to wake up and stop being held hostage by political correctness.
President Trump agreed, tweeting: “I have just ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!”
