Political consultant Roger Stone was permanently banned from Twitter after launching a volcanic invective against CNN pundits Don Lemon, Jake Tapper, and others.
Stone’s account was initially suspended following his angry tweetstorm on Friday, but Twitter later told the Hollywood Reporter the ban is permanent.
According to THR:
“We believe in freedom of expression and in speaking truth to power, but that means little as an underlying philosophy if voices are silenced because people are afraid to speak up,” the spokesperson said. “In order to ensure that people feel safe expressing diverse opinions and beliefs, we do not tolerate behavior that crosses the line into abuse, including behavior that harasses, intimidates, or uses fear to silence another user’s voice.”
Stone, a former aide to President Richard Nixon and a vocal supporter of President Trump, was furious at the media for their inaccurate coverage of the Russia collusion scandal.
Stone tweeted: “@DonLemon stop lying about about the Clinton’s and Uranium, you ignorant lying covksucker!!!! You fake news you dumb piece of sh*t.”
He continued: “@DonLemon you come across on tv as a dull witted arrogant partyboi. You lie constantly and no one who knows you thinks you r bright.”
In another tweet, Stone wrote: “@DonLemon, there r no credible “fact-checks” that clear the Clinton’s on Uranium. Even the people at CNN say u are a buffoon behind you back.”
He then tore into Lemon’s CNN comrade Jake Tapper: “@JakeTapper must be held accountable for his lies and very severely punished #Fakenewsasswipe.”
Stone also trashed CNN’s token Trump-hating “Republican” Ana Navarro: “When AT&T aquires Time Warner the housecleaning at CNN of human excrement like @DonLemon @JakeTapper & dumbf*ck @AnaNavarro will be swift.”
While Roger Stone’s angry tweetstorm was vile and offensive, they weren’t “threatening,” as characterized by the liberal media. He didn’t threaten anyone; he angrily called out CNN and other anti-Trump media for what he considers their inaccurate coverage of the Russia collusion narrative, which has now blown up in Hillary Clinton’s face.
While Twitter claims it’s making an effort to stem online bullying on its platform, many conservatives noted that the social-media giant routinely bans conservatives but ignores the daily death threats against President Trump and other conservative personalities.
Stone said Twitter definitely has a double standard when it comes to conservatives. “I have been inundated on Twitter with death threats, threats to kill my wife, my family, my children and even my dogs, yet Twitter seems unconcerned with these bloggers,” he told Politico.
Stone vowed to take legal action against Twitter, but it’s unclear what the basis of his lawsuit would be.
Here are some examples of unhinged leftists like MSNBC alum Keith Olbermann, whose violent threats and verbal abuse Twitter condones.
