Remember when progressives insisted that America deserved a full investigation into Russia? It appears that they have changed their minds.
President Trump pressured the Justice Department to lift the gag order on an FBI informant who said he has knowledge of the Uranium One deal that gave Russia 20 percent of America’s uranium supply while Russian nuclear personnel were pouring cash into the Clinton Foundation, according to sources who spoke to CNN.
President Trump ordered senior staff “to facilitate the Justice Department’s full cooperation with Congress to lift the gag order,” according to one of CNN’s sources.
The decision was made after Sen. Chuck Grassley called last week for the gag order to be lifted.
“When Grassley expressed interest in having (the informant) as a witness, the President wanted to ensure he could,” a source told CNN.
And now are having a conniption over the fact that the president wanted the informant to be able to speak freely.
Rep. Adam Schiff wants yet another probe, this time into the rumor that the president pushed for the DOJ to lift the gag order on the informant.
“If President personally intervened w DOJ to advance case against political opponent it’s beyond disturbing; I intend to pursue in new probe,” he said.
According to the informant’s attorney, Victoria Toensing, Obama administration Attorney General Loretta Lynch threatened the informant with “loss of freedom” if he violated the gag order.
“All of the information about this corruption has not come out,” she told The Hill. “And so my client, the same part of my client that made him go into the FBI in the first place, says, ‘This is wrong. What should I do about it?’”
