The FBI launched a sex-crimes investigation of movie producer Harvey Weinstein after more than 30 women came forward with horror stories of sexual harassment and serial rape.

Sources told the Daily Mail the FBI opened the investigation at the request of the Department of Justice, whose head is U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Authorities were reportedly concerned that Weinstein would flee the country the way director Roman Polanski did 40 years ago.

In 1977, Polanski was charged with drugging and raping a 13-year-old girl. When he learned he could face jail time for his crimes, the French-Polish director fled to Europe and dodged prosecution.

Polanski has never returned to the United States. In 2003, Hollywood honored the accused child rapist by awarding him the Oscar for best director for the film “The Pianist.”

While rumors had swirled that Harvey Weinstein, 65, was planning to fly to Switzerland this week, he has now decided to seek sex-addiction treatment in Arizona, TMZ reported.

A-list superstars Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow join a growing chorus of women who have shared shocking stories of Weinstein’s harassment and sexual abuse.

Three women have accused the Democratic mega-donor of rape. More victims are expected to come forward.

Weinstein’s predatory behavior was an “open secret in Hollywood” for 30 years, but sanctimonious leftist hypocrites kept silent because they didn’t want to lose acting jobs or be denied access to a wealthy political donor. Weinstein was a major contributor to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and the Democratic Party.

Sexual abuse, rape, and pedophilia have been part of show business for decades, but the mainstream media has repeatedly overlooked these sickening crimes.

Over the years, many people have come forward (like former child actor Corey Feldman and “Lord of the Rings” star Elijah Wood) detailing how predatory Hollywood executives threw parties where they invited young boys, sexually molested them, and then passed them around to each other.

The media — which goes ballastic over every single Donald Trump tweet — has glossed over the rampant pedophilia, child rape, and sexual abuse in the entertainment industry.

In 2011, former child star Corey Feldman said child sex abuse is the biggest problem in show business. “The No. 1 problem in Hollywood was, is, and always will be pedophilia,” he said (see video). “I was surrounded by pedophiles when I was 14 years old.”
