As might be expected, now that the proverbial cat is out of the bag, women are finding the courage to come forward with their own experiences with alleged sexual predator Harvey Weinstein.
…to include several charges of rape.
Turns out, the “open secret” about Weinstein wasn’t too secret. In an interview with New Yorker, Italian actress Asia Argento says Weinstein raped her in a hotel room at the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in 1997.
Argento told the magazine Weinstein forcibly performed oral sex on her, but she was too afraid to speak out until now.
“I know he has crushed a lot of people before,” Argento said. “That’s why this story—in my case, it’s twenty years old, some of them are older—has never come out.”
The actress was 21-years-old at the time of the alleged sexual assault and explained that Weinstein “terrified me, and he was so big. It wouldn’t stop. It was a nightmare.”
New Yorker’s Ronna Farrow detailed several charges of rape.
“Three women––among them Argento and a former aspiring actress named Lucia Evans—told me that Weinstein raped them, allegations that include Weinstein forcibly performing or receiving oral sex and forcing vaginal sex,” Farrow wrote.
There is even an audio recording of the man described by actress Rose McGowan, another of Weinstein’s victims, as a monster.
The recording was in 2015, captured during a New York Police Department sting operation, according to New Yorker.
Weinstein is heard admitting to Filipina-Italian model Ambra Battilana Gutierrez that he groped her, saying he is “used to” doing this.
Gutierrez repeatedly tells him she’s uncomfortable with his behavior as he desperately tries to get the model to go into his hotel room, reminding her that he’s “a famous guy” and threatening to end the “friendship.”
The model all but begs to return to the hotel lobby in the sickening audio as Weinstein persists.

After the original incident with Weinstein, Gutierrez reported the assault at a nearby N.Y.P.D. precinct station and agreed to meet him the following day wearing a wire.
In the end, the D.A.’s office decided not to press charges.
“Gutierrez, facing Weinstein’s legal team, and in return for a payment, signed a highly restrictive nondisclosure agreement with Weinstein, including an affidavit stating that the acts Weinstein admits to in the recording never happened,” Farrow reported.
The journalist said “sixteen former and current executives and assistants at Weinstein’s companies told me that they witnessed or had knowledge of unwanted sexual advances and touching at events associated with Weinstein’s films and in the workplace.”
“They and others describe a pattern of professional meetings that were little more than thin pretexts for sexual advances on young actresses and models.”
She said the behavior “was widely known within both Miramax and the Weinstein Company.”
Lucia Stoller, now Lucia Evans, described her experience with Weinstein in a 2004 meeting in New York.
Stoller said Weinstein told her about two scripts for a possible role.
“At that point, after that, is when he assaulted me,” Evans said. “He forced me to perform oral sex on him.” As she objected, Weinstein took his penis out of his pants and pulled her head down onto it. “I said, over and over, ‘I don’t want to do this, stop, don’t,’ ” she said. “I tried to get away, but maybe I didn’t try hard enough. I didn’t want to kick him or fight him.” In the end, she said, “He’s a big guy. He overpowered me.” At a certain point, she said, “I just sort of gave up. That’s the most horrible part of it, and that’s why he’s been able to do this for so long to so many women: people give up, and then they feel like it’s their fault.”
Argento said Weinstein persisted with her over time and she eventually yielded to his further advances and even grew close to him, according to Farrow.
“After the rape, he won,” Argento said.
The actress released a film in 2000, “Scarlet Diva,” that she wrote and directed.
It featured a heavyset producer who corners a character played by Argento in a hotel room. True to her own described experience, the producer asks for a massage before trying to assault her.
